Yorke Peninsula's Most Highly Awarded Alpaca Stud

Mark Short and Dee Finlay of Alpacas Chaparral have been breeding quality Alpacas for over ten years. We have some of the best breeding Alpaca males in Australia, imported from Peru and the USA.

Our newest Alpaca acquisition is a Peruvian Blue Black Stud Alpaca Male Ambersun Chapararral Cortez.

We are Co-owners of the 2002 Royal Adelaide &  Royal Melbourne Shows 'Supreme Champion Alpaca' Peruvian Fine Choice, 'Ultimo" Also co-owners of Peruvian Auzengate, Australia's most awarded Alpaca,  Peruvian Fine Choice Poncho, Benleigh Golden Flame and new arrival Fine Choice Peruvian Travolta.

Ultimo won back to back Supreme Champion in 2002 & 2003 and has won 10 Supreme Championships, his most recent at the Bendigo Wool & Sheep Show,2005.

We have been breeding alpacas since 1994 and our choice of top bloodlines is producing award winning off-spring. Quality females for sale, sired by or mated to only supreme champion awarded males. The show performance of our males and their progeny are testimony to the quality of our breeding program.

We are located about 2 kilometres South East of Minlaton & welcome farm visits and tours by appointment.

 

Mark Short - Artist

Mark was born and raised on the Yorke Peninsula and has alway had an interest in painting and drawing. His first employment was painting on the John Martins Christmas Pageant. He has held two solo exhibitions at the Kensington Gallery and has participated in many joint exhibitions. His works have now been purchased by overseas clients. His resent work can be seen at The Harvest Corner, Minlaton in the gallery, or directly from his home. Mark as an artist admires the work of Tom Roberts, Fredrick McCubbin and Raymond Harris Ching. With his involvement with Alpacas he has added painting them and vicunas to his repertoire.
